Zachary’s Buddy Bench

It’s hard not to let hurtful words and actions get you down. Meet Zachary, a 9-year-old Cub Scout from Indiana, United States of America, who took a stand against bullying, and in the process also drove an enormous plastics recycling initiative. Discover how this young Scout, with a big heart and sincere convictions, has created incredible impact!

Scout response, Ukraine

When war broke out in Ukraine in early 2022, Scouts didn’t hesitate, mobilising swiftly to help others, coordinating local emergency relief efforts, distributing vital supplies and medicines, supporting displaced persons and providing vital mental health support for children impacted by the war.

Bolivia’s Native Forests

Scouts in Bolivia are championing afforestation with native plants to restore ecosystems in the inter-Andean valleys of Bolivia, around Cochabamba. It’s not a quick nor easy solution, but one which will create healthier natural forests and ensure the sustainability of entire ecosystems in the region for generations to come.

Algeria’s Changemakers

Meet Nour Mahmoudi, an Algerian Scout and champion of youth engagement who is creating opportunities to empower Algerian youth as changemakers in society, through Scouting. She credits Scouting with helping her to find her voice, which she now uses to advocate for young people’s rights.

Vertical Garden, Philippines

Have you ever eaten a salad grown in the sky? Scouts in Navotas in the Philippines are using cutting-edge vertical farming techniques to grow organic vegetables to feed hundreds of families. Discover their project and be amazed by their gravity-defying urban gardens!
