Strengthening fundraising and engagement

Throughout 2023, our BP Fellows, volunteers and staff came together to build relationships and the necessary platforms to help us achieve our collective vision of raising an additional USD 100 million for World Scouting. As we entered the second year of our strategy implementation, we were excited to see positive developments both in donation income and increased engagement with our stakeholders. Our work is carefully planned to ensure that we maximise the impact of each contribution made and we thank you for your continued support!

Engaging with our BP Fellows

Our generous supporters are at the heart of everything we do. In 2023, we were delighted to reconnect with BP Fellows, partners and other supporters of Scouting from around the world at key engagements, including a number hosted together with our local Chapters, National Scout Associations and during World Scouting events. We are grateful, too, for the continued support of our volunteers in promoting World Scouting and engaging BP Fellows in their local communities.

Board & Committee Meetings

WSF Board and Committee Members and staff met in Cascais, Portugal in April. We discovered local Portuguese Scouting and recognised new BP Fellows and Members of the Honours Programme.

BSA National Annual Meeting

We welcomed many new BP Fellows and launched the Pilot US Chapter at the BP Fellows Reception held at the National Annual Meeting of the Boy Scouts of America in Atlanta, Georgia (USA).

BSA National Jamboree

WSF Board Member Jennifer Hancock hosted a BP Fellows Reception at the BSA National Jamboree to reconnect with BP Fellows and share the impact of their support.

WSJ Reception

BP Fellows from around the world gathered at a Reception during the World Scout Jamboree in the Republic of Korea, and WSF Board Members presented new BP Fellows.

Swedish Chapter

Swedish BP Fellows held a workshop, hosted by our Honorary Chairman, HM King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, to learn more about the Foundation and the impact of Scouting.

Zurich event

Our Swiss Chapter welcomed existing and prospective donors at an October event in Zurich, where they heard from a Ticket to Life Scout leader supporting the development of Scouting for refugees in Malawi.

75th BP Fellowship Event

Our 75th BP Fellowship event brought together 250+ BP Fellows and guests in Kandersteg, Switzerland. We celebrated the impact of Scouting and welcomed 59 new BP Fellows and 31 Honours Programme Members.

Japan Chapter

Our Japan Chapter met in Tokyo in November to welcome new BP Fellows and learn more about the impact of their support.

New partnerships to increase support for Scouting

The strengthening of existing institutional partnerships and the development of new ones is key to the achievement of our Strategy and remained a clear focus of our work in 2023. Foundation Board and staff members organised and participated in key events throughout the year, together with the World Organization of the Scout Movement, to engage long-standing and new partners who share our vision.
