You gave generously in 2023 — Thank you.
In 2023, our phenomenal global network of donors — individuals, foundations, corporations, and other partners — collectively raised over 4.7 million to grow and strengthen the impact of World Scouting.
Thanks to your unwavering support, more young people have been able to benefit from Scouting’s unique educational experience, and their communities have in turn benefitted from Scout actions to promote peace, well-being and sustainability, respond to rapid onset emergencies like the flooding in Libya or earthquakes in Morocco and Syria, provide vital access to education, and promote the development of employability and entrepreneurship skills, and so much more!
In 2023, we grew our global network and financial support to Scouting initiatives around the world by welcoming 81 new Baden-Powell Fellows from 23 countries and 29 new Members of the Honours Programme, including two new Regal Circle Members.
We also enlarged our network of new (non-BP Fellow) donors in support of World Scouting via our digital engagement and are sincerely grateful for this valuable support.
Over 250 BP Fellows and guests came together at our iconic 75th BP Fellowship Event in the heart of the Swiss Alps in Kandersteg, Switzerland, as part of the centennial celebrations of Kandersteg International Scout Centre and with the support of the Swiss Guide and Scout Movement. Our Board and Committees also met in April, in Cascais, Portugal, to strengthen our commitment to achieving our 2030 Strategy and to discover and connect with local Scouts. Enjoy looking back at our event photos!

“Scouting is fun, lots of fun! I’m always looking forward to the next Scout meeting, camp or BP Fellowship event to meet old friends and make new friends. No matter the age, we all need a bit of fun and I try to make it possible through my involvement as a BP Fellow. As I have less time to be hands-on in Scouting, I find the Scout Donation Platform a great way to support more children and young adults with the means to experience Scouting and continue the great work in their communities. I am proud to be a Scout!”

“I support World Scouting and its mission to develop youth leadership and a culture of service around the globe, especially in developing countries lacking the resources of some of the larger National Scout Organizations. The World Scout Movement is focused on issues of global importance, which are especially meaningful to younger generations of Scouts.”

“I support the World Scout Foundation as I had so many amazing experiences as a Scout and want other young people to experience similar. My first Scout leader always told me ‘What you put into Scouting, Scouting will give back’. I still believe this to be true and know that my regular donations help Scouts all around the world give back to their community and themselves.”
“Supporting the World Scout Foundation allows each of us to contribute to a global network of Scouts who are dedicated to helping others. Whether it is responding to calamities or leading projects for positive change, Scouts are among the first to arrive and the last to leave. Our support transcends borders, reaching corners of the world where our physical presence cannot. Together, we create a better world.”
Our valued Partners
We recognise and celebrate the continued support of our two long-standing partners, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Alwaleed Philanthropies, for their valuable contributions to the impact of Scouting worldwide.
In 2023, Scouts continued to build on the foundations of the global Messengers of Peace initiative, leading projects and service actions in their local communities worldwide, thanks to the first phase of institutional funding (2012–2020) and additional support from individual BP Fellows. The Foundation also continued its work alongside Saudi partners to secure significant support to strengthen peace education, capacity development and sustainable development in communities worldwide, via Scouting.
Last year also marked the mid-point of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, and with Scouting making the world’s largest youth-led contribution to the SDGs, Scouts continued to create awareness and drive action from the grassroots up to the global level, advocating for sustainable development at the global level via Scouts for SDGs.
Young people continue to be among the most vulnerable to the ongoing impacts of the climate crisis, poverty and other inequalities. Our valued partners understand that they are an integral part of the solution. The power of our strong collaboration, evidenced by the Scouts for SDGs Evaluation carried out last year, will continue to enable millions of Scouts around the world to develop as resilient, skilled, active citizens, who act for positive change in their communities and beyond.

As we strengthen Scouting’s impact and work toward our 2030 goal to raise USD 100 million, we are also grateful for the new partners who put their trust in Scouts by supporting our work in 2023. We look forward to strengthening these relationships and to demonstrating how, with your support, young people can play a key role in improving the sustainability of our planet, promoting peace, and tackling inequality.

“Scouting has a crucial role to play in the development and the structure of a nation. I strongly believe that empowering youth through volunteer programmes has a ripple effect on families, communities, and countries, and can achieve long-lasting benefits and inspire others to participate in their societies. Alwaleed Philanthropies “Global” is honoured to have joined forces with World Scouting to mobilise youth to advance the Sustainable Development Goals, effectively improving the lives of people around the world.”
